After two days of intensive practical hands-on evaluations and theory-based assessments, the top six finalists showcased exceptional technical expertise, real-world diagnostic challenges, product knowledge and professionalism.
The VTC team performed exceptionally well with Brendan Haldane from Daimler Trucks Huntingwood achieving the ultimate honour of first place in the Mercedes Benz Tech of the Year. Followed by Peter Briggs in second place and Archie Rousell in third place, both representing Daimler Trucks Brisbane.
Daimler Trucks Laverton were represented in the Freightliner Technician of the Year with Sam Jalalabadi taking 2nd place.
Reaching this stage of the competition is a significant accomplishment and a testament to their dedication, skill, and commitment to excellence.
Daimler Truck Australia Pacific Vice President of Service, Product, VPC and Elite, Stephen Downes, says the capability on display was exceptional.
“Truck technicians are absolutely critical to success of our customers, so it is important that we identify and celebrate the best of the best,” Mr Downes says.
“The skills on display during the Technician of the Year finals was a testament to dedication and commitment of every single one of our finalists and especially our much deserving winners,” he adds.
